AREA 15 QUALIFIERS .............

What is an area qualifier you may ask yourself?

Well, each riding club throughout Britain belongs to an Area. We are part of Area 15.  When we hold an area competition this gives all the riding clubs within Area 15 an opportunity to compete against each other and depending on the competition rules the winners then compete nationally in a championship

Are you aware of the commitments when you enter into a Qualifier?

1.  Your horse needs to be up to date with the FLU vaccine.  Please show your

passports to Janneke before you enter to make sure your flu vaccine card

is correct.

2.  You need to take your passport plus your vaccination card (if separate) with

you to the qualifier.  These need to be declared before you compete. You

will not be allowed to compete if there are any errors or you forget your passport.

3.  All qualifers need to be paid for in advance.  You do get a portion of your

entry back if you go to the qualifier.

4.  Before you enter, make yourself familiar with the date of the championships.

Even if you don't think you will qualify, you may get a shock on the day as we

have in the past.  You will be expected to be available for the championship if

you enter the qualifier.

Southerndown Riding Club

CHAMPIONSHIP - 7th -9th Aug Warwickshire

Pictured to the left :Sarah Plant on Georgie.  Novice Individual.

FEEDBACK: 1 Senior and 1 Junior team represented SRC on 12th July

at Howick, Chepstow.  It was a good day for most ! Our junior team had a fantastic result

of 2nd place with Hanna & Vistoria Bertorelli and Isobel Bannister. it was Isobel's first time

at Horse trials and she was outstanding so well done to Isobel.  Victoria came home with

overall 6th in the Novice and 1st in the Intermediate so great news there too.

Our Senior team consisted of Carmen Bloxham, Azina Hall, Lesley Kemeys & Sarah Jones.

Carmen & lesley had the same dressage score then both had 4 faults in the Show jumping

on the same fence, but Lesley picked up the pace around the XC course and had no time faults

ending up in overall 2nd place.   Azina had a terrific dressage score and clear in the Show jumping

but picked up those evil time faults on the xc. Sarah .....................well probably best not talk about me!

just was not my day really. Lets put it this way, i should have stayed in bed and saved myself

some money...  Nevermind there's always next year!  Nicola ford entered the intermediate

Individual and Sarah Plant entered the Novice.  Well done to Sarah Plant who competed at horse

trials for the first time and had a good dressage score, 12 faults in the jumping & snapped a pole !

She went clear in the XC with some time penalties but overall a great day for Sarah & Georgie pictured above.
